Merry freaking Crimbo.

It's four hours before Christmas, and I'm glued to my computer screen. Not exactly the best way to spend Christmas Eve, but having spent most of the earlier parts of the day out, I decided gaming would be the way to end it. Every click of my mouse drew me closer and closer to midnight, to Christmas. Then, it was. Shouts of "Merry Crimbo!" from my God Sis reminded me I still have a life in actual reality. As if it was timed to perfection, I had completed my game as well. My mum, my Sis, my Bro, my God Sis and I. All at home, with nothing but bottles of unopened champagne and rum.

There wasn't a need for an invitation. Bottles were uncorked, glasses were brought out. It was alcoholism, as moral as it could come. If there ever was a time to spoil ourselves, not just figuratively, this was it. Jingle bells became the cue for junk food and fried stuff, with probably three times as much oil as was neccessary, to be brought out. It was as though we had been starving ourselves the whole year, just accumulating the appetite for this lavish feast of feasts. And what an appetite it was. Rudolph's lucky he's a famous Christmas character, as I was certainly hungry enough.

Just eating and drinking is never enough. There's that last component. Being merry, or in layman's term, entertainment. This came in the form of a movie marathon. No, we weren't going to watch one Christmas movie after another, which all strangely have very similar plots. We were just going to have a movie marathon in its purest form. Random movies, one after the other. Christmas was just the excuse we needed for such an activity. Million Dollar Baby, King Kong, Munich, just to name a few. Not exactly your typical movie list on Christmas. But then again, it wasn't exactly a typical Christmas either.

So, the movie marathon. It went on until the next day. The clock told us it was morning, but the sky wasn't exactly light yet. Breakfast became top priority, and that's quite a surprise considering the amount we had eaten through the night. It was quickly sorted out though. A quick trip to the nearby coffee shop and breakfast was settled.

Back home, you'd think that we would all be tired after going through one night without sleep. Strangely, my bed never seemed that uninviting to me. Instead, my eyes quickly diverted to my wall. Now with shiny balls on it. Christmas characters could not be found. It seemed that the people who did them public decoration foresaw the "borrowing" of them decorations. They decided that putting up the more expensive Christmas characters would be too much of a risk. They were smart though. They knew balls alone would be too dull, so instead they made the chracters that much bigger. Big enough that they can't be snagged without causing an extremely large bulge in wherever the thief would stash it. I was making another trip though. Hope springs eternal. After all, it's Christmas isn't it.

The trip was a wasted one. Once again, no Christmas characters, or at least none small enough. I wasn't even in the mood to snag any more of them shiny balls. But, home always had a funny way of cheering me up. This was another one of of those times. the smell of pizza greeted me when I stepped into my living room. So, the rest of the day was spent finishing the pizzas, and then playing some games. With my family of course, not on the computer.

As another bottle of champagne was being uncorked, I started writing this. Junk food followed suit. I'm starting to see some sort of a patterm here. But, it'd all be over by tomorrow. When there's no longer an excuse to gorge ourselves silly. I would have returned to the way I was as well, clean shaven and all. But then again, New Year's Day isn't exactly too far away. It is, as they say, just round that proverbial corner. So while I still can, I'm going to enjoy some more bubbly. Then all would be stopped for a few days. Yes, our livers need a break. Then it's more bubbly to usher in the New Year.

Here comes another papercut.
